FISHERS, Ind. — HSE A turned a one-goal game into a 5-1 win over Central Indiana Knights A on Friday night at the Fuel Tank at Fishers.
HSE controlled much of the night offensively, finishing with a 62-20 advantage in shots and scoring twice in both the second and third periods.
Evan Swann opened the scoring for HSE on the power play with 4:29 remaining in the first period, giving the Royals a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Central Indiana answered in the second. Edward Murray scored with 6:30 remaining in the period to tie the game at 1-1.
The tie lasted only 12 seconds.
Jackson Morris put HSE back in front at 6:18, scoring off an assist from Jamison Hultgren. Gabriel Howe added another goal with 1:54 remaining, sending HSE into the second intermission with a 3-1 advantage.
HSE added to the lead early in the third when Quintin Borgert scored on the power play at 14:01. Blake Dillon finished the scoring at 6:01, with Michael Downey picking up the assist.
Finley Jones earned the win in goal for HSE, which limited Central Indiana to six shots in both the second and third periods after the Knights put 8 on net in the opening period.
Connor Hillary handled a heavy workload in net for Central Indiana as HSE generated 62 shots over the three periods, including 23 in the second and 25 in the third.
HSE finished with five different goal scorers in the 5-1 victory.
